February already.

New month, new blog. Yeah, really... a new blog - dedicated to my family genealogies. That way, those of you who could care less who I am related to, can read on in peace. It's okay. Genealogy isn't everyone's cup of tea.

Maybe not today, and maybe not tomorrow, but someday you may be intrigued with your great aunt Grace and want to know more about her. If so, you can go here: http://www.ithinkwererelated.blogspot.com/ .

Now about other things. I am totally consumed these days by you-know-what listed above, and by redoing our master bath. Sounds grand doesn't it ... Master Bath. The wallpaper is off, the paper underneath removed with the excess glue... oh, here's a tip for you.. don't overuse glue to put up wallpaper.

The folks who eventually take down the walpaper will thank you instead of mumble bad words while they scrape away stubborn bits of paper lining. It's nasty stuff to remove - and the only thing that really really works is white vinegar mixed into hot hot hot water sponged onto the wallpaper, liner paper and eventually the walls themselves. Then a LOT of scraping, sanding and wiping down.

I can't believe I found a few spots I missed while putting on a primer coat yesterday. Looks like more sanding today. I suppose, when it is all done, the bathroom will look pretty spiffy... whenever that is.

The grandcat has gone home to Philadelphia; we miss you Sophie! The good news is her parents are home from nearly a month in Ecuador. Yay!

We have enough snow now, thank you very much. X-C skiing is challenging if you don't have a track to follow.

Ohmygosh, I almost forgot! We have a new boat! Well, technically an old boat - almost100 yrs old. We're still trying to identify it - most recent idea is a fan tailed launch. Built in Massachusetts arount 1915. A. had his eye on this craft for the past 15 years or so. It may just fit the bill in Dover ... it won't be a row boat though, too big and heavy. They used to put steam engines near the front of these... and the passengers sat in the rear. I'll have to dig up a picture for you...

In any event restoring the boat (yep, that's the plan) will be a fun challenge.

I guess I better put the computer to sleep and get some sanding and painting done...

Cheers!
